Impressions from the BRN 2017

If you like it more relaxed like me or simply want to experience the different flair of the BRN simply walk through Neustadt early on Sunday at lunchtime. While the residents there are enjoying breakfast, lunch or both, and the hustle and bustle is still far away, the district festival can be experienced much more intensively – because it’s simply more authentic. Authenticity is always one thing, but if you’re in the right place at the right time, you can see it – THE (Colourful Republic of) Neustadt. The following impressions naturally reflect my ideal Neustadt world – quasi subjectively authentic. But maybe I am not alone in my view of things …

Good to know – what is BRN?

The BRN is a district festival in Dresden’s Outer New Town (German: Äußere Neustadt) district that takes place annually on the second weekend in June. The Outer New Town area is known for its thriving bars and clubs. BRN is an abbreviation and stands for Bunte Republik Neustadt – English translated (word by word): Colourful Republic of New Town.
